For MAC
I don’t have a Mac but Grace does and she has written fabulous instructions. http://graduategrace.blogspot.com/2009/03/installing-actions-in-photoshop.html
4. Open Photoshop and click on the Effects Palette for Elements or the Actions Palette for CS
5. Open the image you want to run the action on and double click on the effect or press on the arrow in the palette.
If you have problems loading here are some possible reasons why.
1. Flatten your image before you run an action.
2. Make sure you close Photoshop when you install new actions.
3, If the action fails to work. You need to rename the MediaDatabase.DB3 file to MediaDatabase.old (that way, it’s doesn’t go anywhere). To do this, follow your installation path and stop when hit the version of Photoshop have (i.e., 7.0). Then from there 7.0>Locale/en. us>Rename the MediaDatabase.DB3 to MediaDatabase.old (that way it still is there),. Restart your computer and Photoshop. Photoshop may open more slowly, just be patient.
