Eneloop Batteries / Products I Love!

511Y3HVP07L__SL500_AA280_

From Marcel, Why Sanyo Eneloop? These batteries kick butt! I first used these batteries on a corporate shoot a number of months ago and was THRILLED with the way they outperformed any thing I had ever put in my Speedlite 580 EX II  (that big flash gadget on top of my camera). Holy freakin’ cow, I would never want to use anything else!  Plus unlike alkaline batteries these are rechargeable. Ten billion of alkaline batteries end up in landfills every year so you can buy Eneloops and save the world!

From the Manufacturer, Why Sanyo Eneloop?Sanyo Eneloop rechargeables can replace an entire kitchen drawer’s worth of dry cell batteries You already know the benefits of using conventional rechargeable batteries. But Sanyo Eneloop batteries have advantages over other rechargeables that put them a step ahead. Sanyo Eneloop batteries are an excellent choice for your rechargeables because: * They can be used right after purchase * They consistenly yield high performance * They have a long shelf life with no loss of energy * They can be used everywhere * They are environmental friendly Self-Discharge: Why Conventional Rechargeables Don’t Cut It Conventional rechargeable batteries have numerous advantages that make them great to use for your portable electronics. But they also come with certain disadvantages. After purchase, rechargeable batteries have to be charged before they can be used. And once charged, rechargeable batteries lose the stored energy rather fast. The charging takes quite long and rapid chargers are expensive. Not only that, but continuous charging or frequent charge to “top off” the lost energy (without complete discharge) can destroy the battery. All these negative attributes have one root-cause: self discharge. Self-discharge means that a charged battery slowly discharges itself without any equipment consuming any current. This is the reason for rechargeable batteries being sold in a discharged state. And this is the reason that keeping charged batteries for some time did not make any sense. When you needed them, the energy was gone. Sanyo Eneloop batteries have an extremely low rate of self-discharge, which means they hold their stored energy for a very long time–charge your batteries once and put them in your kitchen drawer, and over a year from now you’ll still be able to use them right away, without needing to charge them again.

Image Recovery /

OH MY HELL, I’VE LOST ALL MY PICTURES!!!

No you haven’t..

NO REALLY I DID! I DELETED MY SON’S FIRST BIRTHDAY AND AUNT BERTHA’S WEDDING! I JUST FEEL TERRIBLE!

OK, when you are done feeling terrible read this. Your images are still probably there. If you haven’t formatted your card they are still there. How does this all work? I’m not going to give you a long technical answer, but you having said “hell” hearkens me to give a more spiritual one. Friend, let me ask you, when you die what happens to your spirit? Does it die with you? Maybe in real in life (or maybe not) but in cameraland, the spirit of your images do not die unless you format the card. Simply put, you do not have to be an atheist in cameraland. Your images still live on, an essence continues to linger on. And the best news is that you don’t have to convert to anything to get them back, no baptism, no offerings, no missionaries. Now if you format your card, you know that means don’t you? Hell, plain and simple, fire brimstone, you’re …. in trouble.  If you’re looking for redemption, here’s a few places to start.  Here a number of free services to help you. Some of are just for PC’s and other work for Mac as well.

Animoto + you = GREAT

Our storefront will be open by Friday. Actions (my downloadable recipes for your pictures) will be available for sale. I’ve worked long and hard making sure they are simple to use with brillant results.

Animoto offers a unque, easy, and beautiful way to present your photos and videos of your family and friends.  Jordon Brough, CEO from Animoto was in town last week and I met him! OK, so he’s really not a CEO but he is a Senior Web Developer and that sounds smart, probably smarter then his CEO. He is super nice. He made this little video for a Smug Mug Party hosted at Zuma Photo and sent it back to me so I could make sure and share it with the world. Thank you Director Jordon. It’s got a professional production team behind it so I guess I can say it’s my first professional debut. I was in a Science Fiction commercial for my friend Brady Anderton’s company, FueldFilms, but I didn’t get the coverage like I get in this one. Other staring actors are photographers, Torsten Bangeter, who is loving his pizza, and Logan Walker of Zuma Photo with Blake the Lepercaun. I’m the one who has a flower in her hair. I’m thinking maybe I need some headshots.

I really do love Animoto. Jordon did not pay me any money, but using Animoto just did win me a thousand dollar prize package. Pretty cool! Here’s the great news, you can use Animoto too! FUR REALS!!!!  Here’s a short video I did for my son. Some of these shots are from family and friends and we put them together last minute in this video. It was his FAVORITE birthday gift. So starting at $5, you make your kids best birthday gift and preserve your memories in a unique and beautiful way. Does it get any better than that?
